Coach Courtney Collins joined the running community to keep focused in college. She took on the Houston Marathon in her home city for her first race, and never looked back. Ever since, endurance running has been Coach Collins’ passion.
In 2011 after graduating from the University of Houston, Coach Collins moved to New York City and joined the staff at JackRabbit Sports. There she was introduced to the triathlon. Once again, Courtney dove into a sport headfirst and started with the Half-Ironman distance in Galveston, Texas. After crossing the finish line, she immediately signed up for her full Ironman, and the following year she claimed the Ironman title in her home state of Texas.
The triathlon opened Coach Collins to coaching at a middle school level in cross country, swimming, and track and field through the fall of 2012. From there, she broadened her experience by coaching for JackRabbit Sports the summer of 2013. Coach Collins has coached individuals in distances ranging from the 10k to the marathon, as well as the triathlon. She enjoys bringing what can be an intimidating sport, whether it be running or triathlon, to a fun and achievable level.
